This archive contains the jupyter Notebook as well as the original files (sources and results) for the "Librarians’ quest to exhaustivity and openness: tracking institutional publications and observing evolving trends in data sharing" project which was presented at the EAHIL 2024 Conference in Riga (Latvia) in June 2024. The aim of the project was 2-fold: 1. Observe data sharing trends in publications by authors affiliated with our institution: are they sharing data more than in the past? are they sharing in supplementary files or in research data repositories? which data repositories? Are those trends comparable with data from other institutions or publishers? is 2. Identify publications that are missing in our repository, and seek common patterns amongst them: is there any reason or logical explanation for their absence? Are they not deposited in the repository because they cannot be made Open Access? Or on the opposite, because, being OA, authors do not feel the need to deposit them? Data sources included Archive ouverte UNIGE, PubMed's UNIGE publications, OpenAlex's UNIGE Publications, and the PLOS Open Science indicator dataset (https://doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.21687686.v4) Licences: Code is licensed under MIT Licence, Figures and results are licensed under CC BY 4.0 Raw data licences are as follow: • PubMed data: Courtesy of the U.S. National Library of Medicine • OpenALEX data: licensed as CC0 by OurResearch • PLOS Open Science Indicators Data set licensed under CC BY 4.0 by PLOS • Archive ouverte UNIGE metadata: CC0 Main result files include: - a list of institutional publications in the institution repository (IR) [aou_all.tsv] - details about their linked/associated shared data [aou_856.tsv] - a list of institutional publications according to PubMed as well as the indication of whether the publication is or not in the IR [pubmed_aou.tsv] - a file with combined data from PubMed, the IR and OpenAlex for UNIGE Biomedical publications published between 2017 and 2022.[aou_pubmed_openalex.tsv]
